  • What is REGGIO inspired learning?
The Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education was developed from a city sponsored educational system serving infants through age six in a town bearing that name. The Reggio Emilia educational system is commonly recognized as one of the best programs for young children worldwide. International study groups of educators from around the globe journey to Italy annually to get a first-hand glimpse of this exceptional philosophy in action. Because in Italy this approach is integrated into the fabric of the local government, community, and its people, it cannot be replicated exactly in the United States. However, to be “Reggio-Inspired” is to abide by the core values and beliefs of this approach to educating young children.
  • My child has a food allergy, will you be able to accommodate them?
We provide Breakfast, Lunch, and Snacks for children throughout the day. Once we are made aware of food allergies, we make sure those children avoid those foods and have alternatives to eat during those times. No child will ever go hungry.
  • Do you have a food program?
We do have a food program! We offer a wide variety of foods for breakfast and lunch, as well as an afternoon snack. We offer a selection of foods during these times including fruits, vegetables, meats, and grains. Milk (or a Milk substitute if provided by the parent), or water is provided at every meal. We strive to keep our menu organic and handmade as best we can, we explore many different foods including vegetarian options. Below is a sample menu of what you can expect your children to be eating.
  • How do you manage billing and reporting student progress?
We use an app called Easyfolios. For over twenty years, we have worked with this small Queen Anne business to develop it. We value small businesses and enjoy the creative process of improving the app for our families! However, it does have some quirks, so we have to be patient. Currently, the app is for our waitlist, billing, student attendance with/ health screening, injury/illness reports, incident reports, Messages, and Daily Reports (for Wads & Tods).
  • What makes Whizz Kids Academy unique?
Our vision: Whizz Kids Academy values the cultural diversity of our faculty, families, and community. We embrace diversity and inclusion by showing respect and acceptance and celebrating our differences. Our vision is to educate and prepare our children to become Social Justice Champions when unjust situations arise. We live the vision through Staff development and passionate teachers and families. If this statement speaks to your family, you are in the right school. Another feature that makes us unique is our dedication to books! We have a library where families are encouraged to borrow and donate books. The class does not use electronics; the oldest educational video lasts only 10 minutes. For example, if the class studies butterflies, a video might assist the children, who can see the metamorphosis.
